10/18/19 On October 18, 2019, the sub-advisor for the fund was changed from J. Zechner Associates Inc. to Fiera Capital Corporation. Changes in the investment strategies of the fund were made because of the sub-advisor change. Portfolio allocations and performance measurement periods prior to this date are reflective of the previous investment strategy.

Investment Objective

  • Pursues a steady flow of income while preserving capital primarily through investment in Canadian fixed income securities.
  • Fiera Canadian Bond Fund will invest directly in fixed income securities such as bonds issued or guaranteed by Canadian governments, corporate debuntures, mortage backed and asset backed securities with maturity dates in excess of one year.

Investment Strategy

  • The Portfolio Manager will deploy investment strategies based on fundamental, technical, sentiment and seasonality based analysis. This will allow the Manager to identify macroeconomic and medium to long term economic trends, exploit short and medium-term investment opportunities, avoid market excess and help identify contrarian positioning as well as recognize seasonal movements in the Canadian bond market.
  • The Fund may invest up to 100% of the cost of its net assets in Fixed Income securities issued by the Government of Canada.
  • The Fund may invest up to 75% of the cost of its net assets in Fixed Income securities issued by the Government of a Canadian province.
  • The Fund may invest up to 15% of the cost of its net assets in Fixed-Income securities issued by Municipalities and government-backed securities.
  • The Fund may invest up to 45% of the cost of its net assets in Corporate bonds.
  • The Fund may invest up to 10% of the cost of its net assets in Maple bonds.
  • The Fund may invest up to 10% of the cost of its net assets in preferred shares.
  • The Fund may invest up to 50% of the cost of its net assets in foreign securities.
